Day 1545. Sector 6.
After checking the perimeter, I braced myself and stepped inside the ancient vessel. The silence was heavy. Empty, just like the outside. Curiosity got the better of me, so I managed to rig my mini nuclear reactor to one of the control panels in the lower compartment.
She’s definitely not flying on this kind of power, but it was enough to jumpstart the ancient ventilation system and a few obsolete dials. No idea what half of them do, but at least there’s fresh air in here now. It seems the wheat outside grew here on its own—the ship has been dead for a very long time. I’ll spend the rest of the night fixing my glasses, looking for anything useful, and trying to get some peaceful rest.
