A week of relentless rain. It has worn me down to the bone. Slipping on the mossy rocks didn’t just bruise my pride — it cost me. The spear handle is snapped, and my glasses frame is hanging by a thread, though miraculously, the lenses survived.
Right now, there’s nothing but the sound of the storm, the hiss of the fire, and a cup of pine needle tea. It’s bitter, but it keeps the despair at bay. I look a mess, and I’m long overdue for a haircut, but here in the wet dark of this cave, that’s the least of my worries.
