In just a week, summer will be over, and with every fiber of my being, I want to catch the last warm rays of the sun before they finally disappear. And, as always, lofi by Steve Nguyen comes to my rescue—the very artist whose work I recently reviewed here. This time, he joined forces with British producer Bcalm and Banks from Lisbon on the track Endless Summer, a piece that seems to summarize yet another warm chapter of our brief lives.
The first minutes of the track are filled with tropical warmth. Metallic drums shimmer like sunlight reflecting on water, while an electric synthesizer, imbued with a subtle spark, tries to remind us of the carefree moments of early summer—mornings when it feels like time has paused, and evenings when you can just lie in a hammock and plan nothing. The music seeps into every cell, inviting you to set aside small worries and feel the moments when the world still rides the waves of freedom.
But the second half of the track shifts the mood. Melancholic chords weave through the soundscape like cold morning dew, signaling the approaching breath of autumn. Summer, once bright and carefree, slowly recedes, leaving behind quiet nostalgia. Endless Summer is music that speaks of the fleeting nature of moments, of a beauty that passes faster than we can notice.
And as you listen, you feel something important in these waves of sound: every summer ends, every day will not return, and yet—there is magic in it. Even in the fading warmth, the music makes the farewell not bitter, but tenderly sweet.
