I often search for music that doesn’t just play, but opens doors within yourself, allowing you to get lost in your thoughts, like wandering through a forest where every shadow and ray of light breathe mystery. Recently, I came across a track that blends everything I love about music — tenderness, depth, and the feeling that you are exactly where you are meant to be. Its title is Finding Yourself, and it was created by masters of their craft: Resonant Circuits, Tal Vaknine, and Vybeshift. This is not just a composition, it is a journey, a reincarnation into something more primal, more natural.
When I first played this track, it felt like a summer rain in a small Ukrainian village. Raindrops run off the old roof, leaves rustle beneath your feet, the smell of damp earth — and you become part of this world, part of every small detail. In Finding Yourself, you are simultaneously both an observer and the very matter of everything.
Hypnotic handpan
The handpan playing by Vybeshift, led by Roni Yohanan, gently guides you through this forest of sounds. Her rhythms are like the heart of the world itself — slow, steady, slightly hesitant, yet reassuring. She paints sonic landscapes: notes rise from her hands and swirl above you like butterflies, opening doors into a space where the whispers of nature are still audible. Each touch of the handpan sends waves that stir the most delicate strings of your soul. And you are no longer just listening — you are observing, breathing together with the music.
The Magic of the Harp
Then Tal Vaknine joins this enchanting sonic world. Her harp is not merely an instrument; it is a map of your soul. Each string, each note weaves the threads of your emotions into a complex yet harmonious tapestry. Tal, born in Jerusalem, transforms the harp into an instrument of a universal language of feelings. When she plays, it seems she knows the exact spot to touch to move you deeply — and this is not exaggeration, it is pure magic that turns you into the matter of everything.
Acoustic Foundation
At the center of this forest of sounds is Resonant Circuits. Jannik Jivung from Malmö, Sweden, created the acoustic foundation of the track: a careful beat, a deep yet gentle bass, and faint vinyl crackles — it is he who transformed separate sounds and melodies into a cohesive, incredibly crafted world. His work is like sunlight breaking through a dense forest, illuminating every detail of the musical canvas. You can learn more about his journey in music in this interview or read a brief review of another track, Resonant Circuits – Forest Walk.
Conclusion
Finding Yourself is like meditating under the open sky: you don’t force yourself to think or feel anything specific; you simply feel. And even as the composition nears its end, as the notes gradually fade, as Tal Vaknine and Vybeshift leave the stage and the forest slowly transforms into a simple meadow, you still carry this magic within you. You return to yourself, but changed — lighter, cleansed, more attentive to the small details around you.
The true power of music is not just to delight the ear, but to transform the listener. Finding Yourself allows you to forget yourself, to become part of nature, to become an observer in a world that once seemed ordinary. This track may become one of the most remarkable works in the lo-fi genre due to its originality, impeccable sound design, and the depth of experience it leaves in the heart for a long time. Let this musical magic guide you, allow yourself to be nothing and everything at once.
Well…this brought a little tear to my eye.
Thank you so much for these words!!! I am seriously moved reading them.
Ever since I started to pursue music seriously around ten years ago it has always been my intention to make the best art I can and it has been a long journey since, learning all the tools necessary to express what wants to be expressed. Reading that my and our work resonates so much with other people adds a deeper level of meaning to the creative process and I am humbled by these words. Thank you!
At this point I also want to express my gratitude once more to Tal and Roni for their trust. The melodic and harmonic base for ‘Finding Yourself’ is their song ‘Through Change’, which I fell in love with a few months ago and knew it had to be transformed into a beat. They allowed me to do that and ‘Finding Yourself’ went through 4 rounds of iterations, Tal was very adamant which parts she wanted to have included. Initially I was shying away from including the ‘escalating’ arpeggio parts but I think in the end it all works out well as one sonic journey.
I’m already looking forward to all the other soundscapes we’ll channel. :)
