The sun long ago dipped below the horizon, the sky has turned darker, and a young crescent moon has appeared. This evening silence is where “Reach For The Moon” fits perfectly. It is a collaboration between three parties: the Danish duo Lahari (Tony Andersen & Jimmi Nielsen), producer Jonny Alias (also known as Jonas Hoffmann), and guitarist Alex Olesen, known as Ookia.

The track sounds as if three musicians gathered in a studio just to take a break from the city hustle. The foundation is Alex’s very soft, almost “sleepy” guitar, which carries its melody with patience. Jimmi Nielsen handles the drums, which don’t fight for attention but merely set the rhythm for an evening wind-down. Curiously, the release credits Jonas Hoffmann for the piano, though in the track itself, it is either barely perceptible or entirely absent. Instead, Tony Andersen assembled the pieces into a cohesive whole, adding synth pads that make the sonic space feel immersive and cosmic.

There is no “stealing the spotlight” here. What you feel is the kind of cohesion that only emerges when musicians play by mood rather than by technical brief. “Reach For The Moon” stands out precisely because of this teamwork. Alex’s guitar provides a warm, velvet touch that, combined with Tony’s signature synth work and Lahari’s rhythmic support, transforms into a ready-made soundtrack for the end of the day. It is music about gratitude for the quiet, for the chance to stop, and simply look at the moon without a thought for gadgets or tomorrow’s plans.

P.S. If you resonate with this evening mood, we recommend checking out our previous look at another work by the artist.
