This year, there will be no new releases from Resonant Circuits. This news would hit hard, if not for their final collaborative work with Vybeshift — the track “Evening Drift.” It arrived precisely when we needed it most: in these final two weeks of December, when the calendar is bursting at the seams and our energy reserves are depleted.

Why is this track so special right now? Because it’s your legitimate way to “step out of the office” without leaving your chair. The composition’s beginning, with the crystal-clear touches of the handpan, feels like the twilight of the winter season, when snow starts to fall outside the office window. These echoes are like the first snowflakes on the glass: they remind you that the world beyond the monitor is still beautiful.

When the warm, slow beat enters, the rhythm of the workday finally decelerates to a human pace. Accompanied by the deep blend of bass and pads, you literally sink into a sea of serenity. This is that moment of “calm” amidst the storm of deadlines. The delicate bells woven into the handpan melody sound like the distant murmur of a Christmas market you’ll surely visit later.

You take off your headphones and once again hear the clicking of keys and the office buzz. But you are changed. You’ve submerged into this emotional depth, drawn silence from it, and returned with renewed strength. One last look at the Christmas tree in the corner of the open-plan office — and you are ready to calmly finish the day. “Evening Drift”, for me personally, can turn into a ritual of recovery that grants a feeling of peace even when you only have a five-minute coffee break. Happy holidays!

P.S. If you are looking for even more therapeutic chillhop and vibrant atmosphere from this duo, we recommend listening to their previous compilation “Sparks of Life”.
