Hello, friends!

I hope you're all doing well. Let me introduce you to the amazing composition Chikage by American artist Sam Ojalvo. Fair warning: this track has the power to evoke a warm sense of nostalgia.

Two Parts of a Single Story

In terms of mood, the composition can be roughly divided into two parts. The first, lasting until 2:00, feels like an evening at the doorstep of an old jazz club. The trumpet takes center stage, seamlessly blending into the hip-hop percussion, creating a cozy atmosphere. In the background, you can hear the chords of a "singing" guitar, which at times resemble the legendary ATB – 9pm (Till I Come). Altogether, it sounds incredibly harmonious.

After 2:00, the track seems to reveal another side of its story. The guitar moves to the forefront, while the other instruments shift roles. This creative decision does not disrupt the established vibe; on the contrary, it enhances the romantic essence of the piece. Ojalvo masterfully applies distortion and reverb, modernizing the warm jazz sound while preserving its soulful depth.

The Perfect Soundtrack for Evening Walks

Chikage is an excellent choice for warm evening strolls. Its sound is not too intrusive, yet it perfectly complements the red-gold reflections of the setting sun. This track undoubtedly deserves a place in evening vibe playlists as well as in your personal music collection.

I've already added it to my Lo-fi Elegy. Now it's your turn!

Have a great day!
