REVIEW: OTHER MUSIC GENRES

Hello, friends!

Today, I want to share a truly unique composition with you—one that stands apart from typical lo-fi or chillhop tracks. I’m talking about "Senso digitale", a piece released on June 10, 2020. This work comes from an independent project from Milan called Cambio Cura.

I haven’t been able to uncover exactly who is behind this project, but they describe themselves as follows:

"This is an independent project that was born around 2019 in Milan and then moved to the heart of the Alps. The music produced is an encounter between free forms and sound ideas without limits and prejudices. A mixture of thoughts, disordered dreams, diseases and cures."

Emotion and Sound

This, in my opinion, is the perfect way to describe the composition itself. I see "Senso digitale" as the result of blending free forms with fresh ideas—a fusion of creative thoughts, vivid dreams, and even remedies that can heal the world's burdens.

If you listen closely, you can feel the harmony—it sounds refreshing and vibrant. This music holds something fiery, like true Italian passion, yet soothing, like a stroll through Parco Sempione in the heart of bustling Milan.

A Fusion of Genres

What’s truly striking is how so many beautiful elements come together seamlessly in a single track, making it sound just as relevant today as it was five years ago.

Listen carefully to the percussive rhythm paired with intricate guitar chords—it’s difficult to put into words. The creators themselves describe their music as Nu Jazz, Jazztronica, and Jazz Fusion, and I couldn’t agree more.

Additionally, I’d say this track reminds me of a passionate yet restrained dance—perhaps not flamenco in the traditional sense, but something similar in its rhythmic intensity and mood. The melody unfolds gracefully, while the percussion adds a distinctive pulse.

You can hear elements of jazz and African influences, especially through the drumming patterns reminiscent of the djembe, a traditional African drum. These beats give the music a lively yet unobtrusive rhythm.

I’m curious—what does this composition remind you of? Share your thoughts in the comments!

A Key Moment in the Track

One of the most captivating moments occurs at 2:31, when Cambio Cura offers the listener a brief pause after the track builds up its fiery rhythm.

At that moment, you hear:
Delicate, ringing guitar chords
♦ A deep yet light synthetic bass
♦ A soothing sound reminiscent of distant chimes

This creates a sensation of floating in space, only for the music to pull you back to Earth, recharging you with energy.

Why You Should Listen to This Track

I could describe this piece endlessly, using countless metaphors, but sometimes the best thing you can do is simply listen.

"Senso digitale" is one of those tracks you turn to when you want to relax yet stay subtly energized for whatever comes next. It’s like a calming remedy—but one that won’t put you to sleep.

Final Thoughts: Music That Expands Horizons

A heartfelt thank you to Cambio Cura for crafting something so delicate yet alive, so colorful yet harmonious. This kind of music challenges the way we think about sound and invites us to explore new genres.

Wishing you all the best!
