You know that inexplicable urge to just shut yourself within your own emotional boundaries and let no one in? That’s exactly the feeling that washed over me after the first listen to “Left Unsaid” by SaintBySix. However, I decided to put these thoughts on paper so they wouldn’t remain those very “unsaid words.” This track is a deeply intimate piece that forces you to look inward rather than out.

The sound immediately throws us back to the roots: it’s that raw, primal future garage reminiscent of early Burial. But what struck me most is how the artist shifts the focus toward a more modern sound. Here, the garage rhythm dissolves into a thick ambient atmosphere, created by those incredibly melancholic pads. The melody is sustained by a repetitive vocal sample that acts like a mantra, sitting atop a truly thick, almost physical layer of sub-bass.

However, to be completely honest, I have one “but.” The track lasts four minutes, and during that time, the vocal fragment repeats quite often. As a listener, I sometimes felt the need for an “exit” or a more distinct progression. Knowing that the artist is a former guitarist with 15 years of experience, I found myself waiting for him to add something more melodic or perhaps break the monotony with a piano part or some instrumental solo. It would have helped thin out this dense atmosphere of things being left unsaid.

But maybe that was the point? SaintBySix isn’t chasing trends, he’s creating music for liminal spaces — those empty hallways and night streets where time stands still. It’s high-quality, emotionally “heavy” work for those who aren’t afraid of their own melancholy. If you need to sit alone with the things you never dared to say out loud, this track is the perfect companion.

P.S. If you’re into this kind of dark and deep electronic music, be sure to check out our piece on another powerful future garage release.
