Today, I want to talk about a fresh release from the Dutch artist ARTO (a melodic house specialist under Armada Chill). His track “Sunsets in Ibiza” arrived recently and has already gained a solid following, which makes perfect sense given the current rise of melodic house as an antidote to a stressful world.
Sound Architecture
The core of the track is an incredibly chill progression built on soft synth arps. ARTO’s approach moves away from aggressive dancefloor rhythms toward a gentle immersion in melody. The rhythm remains, but it acts more as a foundation for an uplifting mood rather than a traditional high-energy club beat.
The “secret sauce” here is the layering of pads — some provide euphoria, while others offer structure. Each layer has its own swell, stimulating a sense of catharsis. Despite the repetitive nature of the arpeggio, the evolving pads keep the progression interesting, leading the listener toward a satisfying logical conclusion.
Why Listen?
“Sunsets in Ibiza” offers a fascinating duality. It’s the kind of track you can sway to at a small beach gathering, yet it’s equally effective for unwinding at home. This versatility plays heavily in ARTO‘s favor, broadening the track’s appeal across different listening scenarios.
That said, I personally recommend this for travel. It sounds great in any weather and provides enough rhythmic momentum to keep you focused while driving without being overstimulating. It’s a solid piece for anyone looking to bridge the gap between energy and relaxation.
P.S. If you’re into electronic music with a deep atmosphere, don’t miss our review of Iketa.
