Sound Architecture
The secret of this piece lies in the string chords. However, they aren’t like the ones we usually hear in standard lo-fi chillhop compositions. The chords in “Darling” are more reminiscent of a reggae rhythm: they are short, sunny, and seem to be built from several layers of instruments, such as ukulele, acoustic, and electric guitar. This sound alone, even without additional stems, provides a sun-drenched power.
Beno Sorsak, a highly acclaimed guitar player with over 20 years of experience, didn’t stop there. He added excellent percussion, with hi-hats spread across the panorama to create a sense of presence. By adding nostalgic synthesizers, he intentionally tosses us into an 80s vibe. Looking at the track as a whole, it can be compared to an old family video of a seaside vacation.

In my opinion, “Darling” is perfect for relaxing in a hammock in the backyard or a family trip to the water. The track evokes a pleasant, warm nostalgia and seems to unite listeners, giving them the strength to create precious memories while relaxing together.
